REGION: Valpolicella, Veneto
GOOD TO KNOW: The winery was originally founded in the sixteenth century , but it was bought in 1995 by Emilio Pasqua di Bisceglie with the goal of restored the noble vilification labor with respect of the land, and now his legacy is continued by his daughter Maddalena. The winery is located between three different hills: Monte del Drago, Perlar and Palazzina. Amarone della Valpolicella is a DOCG which traditionally is based on the local Corvina grape, optional blended with Rodinella, Molinara, Corvinone, Negrara, Barbera, Sangiovese, Oseleta and very recently, Cabernet Sauvignon, also is very strictly ruled DOCG, the producers can only harvest when the DOCG allows it. Musella’s follow an ambitious project, not only because biodynamic, but because they believe that now is the time for the Valpolicella to further exploit its territorial potential, free from market constraints in order to better express all their innate class in purity and taste. The elegance inherent in traditional grape varieties is thus considered by Maddalena the conceptual center of their wines, the true revelation of a rich and unique nuances and complexities territory, often enhanced with the right depth in the most commercial wines, thus confusing the public perception.
TASTE: full bodied and tannic wine. Is cozy and comforting. On the mouth and on the nose you find chocolate, cherries, minerals, ripe fruits, cloves and cinnamon.
